The Voodoo Mon premiers on Twitch July 8th

The Voodoo Mon is a short film that will make its online Premier on the platform Twitch, July 8th. Spearheaded by Screening Room LA. The film will be live on twitch at 5pm PDT / 8pm EST. To watch the film it will be $5.00 and it can be cash app’ed to Screening Room LA’s coordinator at $SCRLA. 

Synopsis: 
A young teenage girl commits suicide after being bullied at school. Her mother brings her body to a voodoo priest where she is resurrected from the dead. Once awaken, she vows vengeance on her bullies.

The Voodoo Mon will be a feature film. The screenplay is penned by Chris Williams and Nicole Simone Backus. The script will be making its way to Screencraft’s Horror Competition, hopefully winning.  The Voodoo Mon has strong character arcs, especially Minister Shalamon of Harlem. He is essential to the story because he’s the minister who preaches what he sees and he wants the black community to understand that if we as a people don’t change, hell will be upon us. 

The Voodoo Mon is a horror film that’s in the vein of Jennifer’s Body, Carrie, and Brightburn. It deals with school bullying and teen suicide which is a big problem in schools and workplaces across the country.
