At 11 minutes and change horror short Heartless is one of the most consistently engaging short horror films we’ve seen. Just like their feature counterparts, horror shorts have a tendency to build up a single scare, exchanging narrative for a single thrill and largely, in the short form, it really works. Kevin Sluder’s Heartless succeeds by driving (what could very well have been a full length film) full speed forward where every second is just an extension of its relentless pacing in gore -soaked merriment. An exercise in the heartless world of high pressure corporate business, the short encapsulates the stereotypes most of us face everyday in the real world and gives them a fantastic horror movie sendup resulting in an utterly satisfying example of wish fulfillment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Recommend0 recommendationsPublished in
