The Holiest One is a new 10 part web series that follows the trials of an Australian cult follower as she attempts to start a new chapter in Los Angeles. Filmed independently over seven months in Melbourne and Los Angeles, it features a large ensemble of emerging and diverse talent including several alumni of the famed Groundlings Theatre in LA.
Following a shock break up, Sofia is recruited into a mysterious new religion known as The Congregation. Seeking a fresh start, she throws her life savings away to set up a new chapter in Los Angeles. There she connects with a struggling real estate agent and his personal assistant, but it isn’t long before she discovers that being a saint in the City of Angels can be hell.

Following the success of their award-nominated web series Maddalena (Best Actress, Best International Series – New York Web Fest 2018), co-creators Sarah Nicolazzo and Phil Speers sought to raise the stakes for their follow up project. The Holiest One weaves together an ambitious international narrative, developed during production in collaboration with the cast and realised the only way they know how – guerrilla style. The result is a kinetic, hilarious and thrilling dramedy about cults, betrayal and tiramisu.
